Summary of Accountabilities
Play a leading role in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities and to provide leadership and direction to other Aviation Maintenance Technicians. Prioritize shop tasks and assist in the scheduling and work scope estimates for requested customer aircraft visits. Manage aircraft inputs into the shop and aircraft returns to service. Enforce shop safety, cleanliness and organization as it pertains to OSHA/FAA and customer perception requirements. Coordinate an “on-call” schedule for technicians for after-hours coverage. Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with applicable Federal Regulations and company policy and procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for other AMT’s in day-to-day aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities to include:

- Directing planning, and implementing the methods and procedures used by the repair station in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Directing, planning, and coordinating the activities of the maintenance department within the repair station to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
- Making available the necessary manuals, service bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and other technical data.
- Ascertain all necessary work records are properly executed by the responsible technician.
- The proper handling and preservation of all units and parts during removal, storage, installation, and repair process.
- Assist with work order estimates when requested.
- Provide customer updates on work progress and relay maintenance information.
- Assemble, install and repair parts using hand tools and power tools for all aircraft.
- Troubleshoot and identify maintenance issues through to resolution.
- Provide leadership and perform scheduled & unscheduled inspections and maintenance on a variety of aircraft from light single engine to heavy business jets.
- Perform tests and record test results.
- Keep detailed and accurate records. Communicate regularly with Accountable Manager as to the specific needs of each aircraft.
- Research parts for aircraft as needed and provide information regarding part number, condition, quantity and timeframe to parts department for ordering.Ensure quality of parts and coordinate assembly and installation.
- Maintain shop to include equipment and tooling in a neat, orderly, and serviceable condition.
- Perform general facility projects as required.
- Enforce shop safety practices.
- Ensure “on call” maintenance schedule is available for after-hours and weekends.
- Oversee quality standards for the repair station are adhered to and maintained.

Education and Experience
Education:
- High school diploma required.
- Associates degree or Technical Training degree required.
Licenses & Certifications:
- A&P license required.
Additional:
- Inspection Authorization preferred.
- Inspection Authorization and Pilot’s license a plus.
- Valid U.S. Passport, or ability to obtain a U.S. Passport required.

- Must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to speak and listen clearly.
- Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy.

Additional Requirements or Skills
- 10 years aviation maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of general office equipment required.
- Possess a high attention to detail.
- Must be able to multi-task, and operate in a fluid environment.
- Must be a task-orientated team player with initiative.
- Ability to use computer, software programs and maintenance forms associated with Repair Station functions.
- Ability to collaborate with manager.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as requested.
